Alfredo Barrios, Jr. is a Mexican-American screenwriter, playwright, director and producer from Los Angeles, California. A long-time Writers Boot Camp alumnus, who was hired early on by fellow alum and creator of Burn Notice, Matt Nix, we are very happy to have the chance to hear about his experience and trajectory in conversation with founder Jeffrey Gordon.
Alfredo just completed his first feature film, BULL RUN, as its director and writer. Recently, he served as an executive producer on the Epix drama HOTEL COCAINE, in addition to serving as a co-executive producer on Shelter, Amazon Prime’s YA show based on Harlan Coben’s book series, and on CBS Network’s Magnum PI.
Currently, Alfredo has several TV and film projects in development with various studios. Previously, he served as showrunner and an executive producer on the History Network drama, Six, a scripted series about SEAL Team Six. And before that, he was an executive producer on the hit USA Network show Burn Notice.
Born and raised in L.A., Alfredo is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law program. After a five-year stint as a corporate litigator, he ventured into screenwriting and was staffed on various television shows, including First Monday, Mister Sterling, Lyon’s Den, Law & Order, Just Legal, Close to Home, and Justice.
