Stephen Soucy, Writer-Director-Producer–MERCHANT IVORY (documentary)

A long-time Writers Boot Camp Professional Member, Stephen is coming off his recent feature documentary film, MERCHANT IVORY, about the producers of such classic period films as A ROOM WITH A VIEW, HOWARD’S END and REMAINS OF THE DAY. Actively developing projects of varying formats, he’s currently in the midst of production on multiple off-Broadway musicals.

Nicki Micheaux, Writer-Director-Actor–SUMMER OF VIOLENCE

Nicki, also a Writers Boot Camp Professional Member, made her acting breakthrough in the hit show Lincoln Heights, for which she was nominated for three NAACP Image Awards–as she continued writing. Her feature film directorial debut from her own script, SUMMER OF VIOLENCE, was just released this past month!

Shawn Chou, Writer-Director–TIGER MOM

To complete our Pro Member panel is Shawn Chou, director of his own script written during his time at Writers Boot Camp. Starring Ken Jeong, Shawn wrote TIGER MOM using “all the strategies he learned to navigate the intricacies of a fully developed screenplay” in his actual Project Group during one’s initial membership, the meetings with fellow writers that meet every other week.

Normally reserved for our Professional Members as part of their ongoing benefits, we’re opening this event to all alumni, organizational partners, and their guests as space permits!

We encourage you to send questions in advance of the event directly to jg@writersbootcamp.com.

If you RSVP and then find you cannot attend, please let us know. While the event is free, the staff and speakers spend much time and effort.

If you do recommend someone to this event, please have your guest note your name on their RSVP. Mini-Camps and Industry Interviews are ongoing benefits of Professional Membership. We open key events for Basic Training alumni and friends in the business to meet new writers who will benefit from our support.
