Bonnie Gillespie, a casting director known primarily for independent feature films, recently spoke on our Bergamot Station stage for an Actors Annex. Along with Writers Boot Camp Founder Jeffrey Gordon, Bonnie talked about her experience and insight on the casting process and her business expertise in an array of production formats.
With a great sense of humor, Bonnie proved that casting directors can be approachable and that actors should not be afraid to get to know who they are auditioning for. A former child actress herself, she was able to give perspective from both sides of the casting room and also talked about how being typecast is not always a bad thing.
Whether you’re an actor or writer, Bonnie is a great example of how a great work ethic can lead to success in the industry.
