Join Writers Boot Camp Founder, Jeffrey Gordon (JG) with Gregory S. Marcus to discuss the state of theater-going and to review the highlights and trends of recent holiday box office. JG will moderate a candid conversation about the exhibition of film from Gregory’s Midwest vantage and the behind- the-curtain view of movie theater operations in this post-pandemic, social media, streaming age.

Marcus Theatres, which Gregory oversees, has 91 locations operating nearly 1,100 screens throughout the United States. JG will discuss how this aspect of the business operates and what changes Gregory has seen since 2020 and through the years, as well as what the future of exhibition will look like.

A Milwaukee-based company, The Marcus Corporation is a leader in the lodging and entertainment industries with two divisions, Marcus Theatres and Marcus Hotels & Resorts. The company’s common stock is listed on the New York Stock Exchange (MCS).

Having met in the late 80s in LA when JG was in the Peter Stark Producing Program at USC, Gregory joined his company in 1992 and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2005. He was elected President in 2008, CEO in 2009, and Chairman of the Board in 2023.
