*Basic Training Weekend teaches the fundamentals of screenwriting, from Concept, Structure, Character Development and Scene Work, in two days of intensive instruction--and imparts our accelerated writing method so that you can complete your draft after the weekend in four weeks writing 12 hours per week, or 48 hours.

The session includes a study guide, and a member of our instructor corps will be assigned to assist you with your integration of tools, project decisions and creative work via once-a-week phone Office Hours.

All material is taught from the philosophy of crossover between features and television, as well as digital production. Each day includes instruction with ample time for lunch and breaks, and creative exercises to prepare you for the writing of your draft after the weekend.

Beyond the weekend, if you send a friend to become a member of our professional membership, which teaches writers not only the incredibly fast first draft process but all of the stages of writing and developement, we'll give them the weekend as our gift!

All you need to start is a single sentence script idea. The weekend will take each writer through intensive first-draft coursework--and the staff support after the weekend will guide each writer through four weeks of writing and creative work to complete the draft within four weeks later in 12 hours per week, or the equivalent of 48 hours. Script evaluation by the staff is free and included!
